Nandreeson

Lando Calrissian once broke into Nandreeson's private residence and made off with a considerable sum of money. This stolen wealth was later used to fund his various commercial endeavors, including the Tibanna gas extraction operation located on Bespin. Enraged by this act, Nandreeson placed a bounty on Calrissian's head. Nandreeson's anger stemmed not only from the theft itself, but also from the damage it inflicted on his public image. He believed that if Calrissian had not humiliated him, he would have successfully succeeded Jabba the Hutt as the most powerful crime boss in the galaxy. He also reasoned that if he could finally capture Calrissian and make an example of him, the galactic criminal community would hold him in much higher regard.

Seventeen years following the Battle of Yavin, Calrissian took the risk of returning to Smuggler's Run in order to assist his friend, Han Solo. Despite his careful planning, Calrissian was apprehended and imprisoned by Nandreeson. Lando found himself thrown into the pool within Nandreeson's living quarters. Nandreeson informed Lando of his plan to keep him submerged in the water indefinitely, without food or rest, until Lando eventually succumbed to exhaustion and drowned. A rescue attempt for Lando, organized by Solo, failed when a portion of the rescue team (Zeen Afit, Kid DXo'ln and Wynni) unexpectedly betrayed him upon reaching Nandreeson's residence. At this point, Nandreeson opted to simply have Calrissian, Solo, and Chewbacca executed and ordered his subordinates to carry out the order. However, the former allies of Solo and Calrissian were subdued with relative ease, and Nandreeson's Glottalphib guards were either killed or forced to retreat after Lando fired a shot at the ceiling. This ceiling was home to a large colony of watumba bats. The startled bats began flying erratically around the room and then noticed the fiery breath of the Glottalphibs. The fire-eating bats then proceeded to literally fly down the throats of the Glottalphibs and consume their breath, resulting in their deaths.

Nandreeson was underwater when the bats were provoked into action and, therefore, was not targeted by them. Determined to exact his revenge on Calrissian, he grabbed hold of Lando and dragged him underwater in an attempt to drown him. Lando was rescued when Solo dove underwater to reach Nandreeson and kicked him. The crime lord opened his mouth to unleash his fiery breath on Solo, at which point Chewbacca shot him in the mouth, which was the only vulnerable spot for a Glottalphib.
