Nathan Butler is the mind behind the Star Wars Tales story "Equals & Opposites," and he also collaborated on the DC0052 speeder entry in the Databank. His expertise in chronology was instrumental in establishing dates for a series of historical maps featured in The Essential Atlas. However, he acknowledges responsibility for a typographical error that incorrectly placed Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith at 15:5:20 instead of the correct date of 16:5:20. Additionally, Butler contributed a concise article on Star Wars continuity to Geoffrey Todd Carlton's Star Wars Super Collector's Wish Book, Fourth Edition in 2007. He was also among the individuals interviewed in Will Brooker's Using the Force: Creativity, Community, and Star Wars Fans. As the author of "Equals & Opposites," Butler is credited with creating the characters Pallin and Tarneel, as well as conceiving the planet Ord Sedra and the associated Battle of Ord Sedra.
His contributions to the fan community include Star Wars Timeline Gold, a chronological reference, Star Wars: Second Strike, an audio drama (a pioneering effort for the Star Wars saga online), the ChronoRadio internet radio show (hosted at Star Wars Fanworks), and various other audio productions available online. In 2017, he published "A Saga on Home Video: A Fan's Guide to Star Wars Home Video Releases," a comprehensive guide detailing all home-video releases from the original movie up to Rogue One. In 2021, Nathan completed the 3-volume "A saga on home video: Second Edition", expanding the guide to include all releases up to Rise of Skywalker.
