Born on June 25, 1979, Nathan Elias Hamill is an artist. He had a brief appearance in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace and played Saile Minnau in Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. He is the offspring of Mark Hamill, the actor famous for portraying Luke Skywalker.
During the production of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, Mark Hamill was in Finse, Norway with his wife Marilou, who was several months pregnant. The Hamills brought medical supplies and a sizable teddy bear, fearing a premature arrival. Nathan was born early on the Monday morning when his father was scheduled to film a scene where Luke grabs an electronic weather vane after emerging from the underside of Cloud City. Despite being awake the entire night, Mark Hamill arrived on set on time to film his character's fall from Cloud City onto the Millennium Falcon.
Nathan Hamill had a cameo within Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. In an interview found in the Star Wars Insider magazine, he called this character "Rehtul Minnau." This name was later made canon within Teckla Minnau's entry in the StarWars.com Databank, but it was not confirmed to be the same character.
Hamill created artwork for sketch cards in the 2009 Topps Star Wars Galaxy Series 4 trading card set.
