The senatorial complex of the New Republic, alternatively referred to as the Senate complex or simply the senatorial complex, served as the location for the Galactic Senate of the New Republic on the planet Hosnian Prime. The complex was designed as a large, sprawling structure, primarily contained within a single, elongated, and low-profile building of only one story. This design choice was intentional, aiming to prevent any perception that offices situated in taller structures held greater importance. To facilitate movement across the extensive complex, automated sidewalks were implemented. Furthermore, the building incorporated extensive transparent wall panels, providing occupants with views of the surrounding environment. The senatorial conference building, utilized for various supplementary purposes, was located within the complex and suffered a bombing incident perpetrated by the Amaxine warriors during 29 ABY. In 34 ABY, the entire senatorial complex faced complete annihilation when the First Order deployed its Starkiller Base superweapon to obliterate the entire Hosnian system.
