New Republic soldier
New Republic troopers, also referred to as New Republic soldiers, served as the standard infantry for the New Republic Defense Force. These soldiers followed in the footsteps of the Rebel troopers and were eventually reformed into the Galactic Alliance Infantry Troopers.
History
In the months that followed the Battle of Endor and the establishment of the New Republic, the New Republic troopers replaced the Rebel troopers. Their training and equipment were significantly improved compared to what they had during the time of the Rebellion.
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, they donned white body armor reminiscent of the armor used by stormtroopers; however, this armor offered only partial coverage. They wore light blue uniforms underneath. Their helmets featured orange-tinted, transparent visors that could be sealed. A tank connected to the helmet was located on the back of the body armor. They carried blaster rifles and pistols as their weapons. These soldiers participated in battles such as the Battle of Dantooine, Battle of Artorias, the Evacuation of Rychel in 25 ABY, and the Battle of Yag'Dhul in 28 ABY, alongside numerous other engagements throughout the conflict.
Weapons and Equipment
During the Galactic Civil War, New Republic troopers utilized the same weaponry and equipment as their predecessors, the Rebel troopers. Their main weapon options included the DH-17 blaster rifle or the A280 blaster rifle, while their sidearms were either a DH-17 blaster pistol or a DL-44 heavy blaster pistol. In later years, especially during the Yuuzhan Vong War, the New Republic troopers adopted armor similar to that of Imperial stormtroopers and employed E-15A blaster rifles.
