Nimbanel
The Nimbanels, also known as Nimbanese, are uniquely recognized as the sole species that sought out the Hutts and willingly entered into their service. These humanoid, warm-blooded reptilians originated from grazing creatures on the planet Nimban.
Culture and history

The evolution of the Nimbanese was significantly shaped by the necessity to cultivate problem-solving abilities. This was essential for acquiring sustenance from Nimban's mobile flora, such as the puzzleflower and the boyy'lo. As their civilization progressed, these competitive puzzle-solving skills transitioned into a method for resolving conflicts between clans, replacing the more violent warfare common in other early societies. In events known as muhndees, a clan would challenge its rivals with a complex logic puzzle or a difficult mathematical problem, requiring a solution within a year. This fascination with competitive logic spurred the Nimbanese to innovate methods of obscuring and complicating meaning. Over time, this practice resulted in the creation of an exceptionally intricate bureaucratic system. Instead of amassing weaponry, competing clans would accumulate information, challenging each other with overwhelming amounts of paperwork.
Following the development of space travel and the colonization of several planets within the Nimban system, they were discovered by the Galactic Republic, which they promptly joined. Having navigated their own convoluted bureaucracy, the Nimbanels easily integrated into the comparatively straightforward systems of the Republic. The Bovark clan, one of the Nimbanese clans, rose to prominence as a primary data custodian for the Bureau of Ships and Services. However, the Bovarks' competitive spirit led them to threaten another family within BoSS, resulting in the removal of all Nimbanese clans from their data holding positions. Seizing the opportunity, the Krovalis clan, a rival clan, intervened. Recognizing the expansion of Hutt Space towards Nimbanese territory, they approached Zochaeb the Hutt and negotiated an agreement. As per the agreement, the Hutts supported the Krovalis clan's bid for a share in BoSS's data holdings, ensuring the Nimbanese would largely maintain their personal freedoms and living standards. In exchange, the Hutts gained access to all Nimbanese databanks, and the Nimbanels pledged allegiance to the Hutt Clan of Ancients.

Since forming alliances with the Hutts, Nimbanels have been present throughout the galaxy, serving as bureaucrats and business administrators for legitimate businesses, governmental bodies, and the Hutts' criminal enterprises. Notably, Mosep Binneed, an accountant, worked for Jabba the Hutt in Mos Eisley. During both the Clone Wars and the Galactic Civil War, several corporations, including the starship manufacturer Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. and the droid manufacturer Delban Faxicorp, were under Nimbanel ownership.

Behind the scenes
During filming, the Nimbanel who was later identified as Mosep was given the nicknames "Walrus", "Ming", or "Mingo" by the crew.
Prior to the establishment of the Hutts' appearance in the original release of Return of the Jedi, Howard Chaykin drew inspiration from Mosep for the depiction of "Jabba the Hut" (sic) in the Marvel Star Wars comics. This, in turn, influenced the writers at West End Games to establish the Nimbanese as associates of the Hutts.
