Ello Asty was responsible for recruiting Nimi Chireen, along with her brother Aarton, into the ranks of the Resistance. Nimi Chireen was kept as a reserve member until the events that transpired after the Battle of Crait, at which point she became an active member of the remaining Resistance forces. In the year 35 ABY, Chireen found herself stationed at the Resistance base and had recently been given her very own T-70 X-wing starfighter. Poe Dameron, who held the rank of Commander, recognized her significant potential. Following the Battle of Exegol and the ultimate defeat of both Darth Sidious and the Sith Eternal, she took part in the celebratory events.
Nimi Chireen's initial appearance occurred in the 2019 cinematic release, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, which served as the concluding chapter of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The character was portrayed by Mimi Ndiweni, a British actress, whose credit was listed as "Resistance Officer". It is worth noting that the character's given name bears resemblance to the actress's own name.
