Aarton Chireen was a lieutenant in the Resistance. This human male hailed from Jaymir, where he and his sibling, Nimi Chireen, were enlisted by Ello Asty, a skilled pilot. They were initially held back, but after the Battle of Crait, they joined the main Resistance forces.
In the year 35 ABY, he served as a quartermaster at the Resistance base situated on the moon of Ajan Kloss. When the Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 light freighter, came back to the base engulfed in flames following a mission, Chireen gave the order for fire crews to address the situation. Later, he participated in a briefing where the return of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious was revealed, along with the impending arrival of a Sith fleet from the planet Exegol to bolster the First Order.
Alongside his sister, Nimi Chireen, Aarton Chireen, a human male from Jaymir, fought for the Resistance during its war against the First Order. After being recruited by the pilot Ello Asty, the Resistance kept the siblings in reserve, tasking Aarton with gathering local intelligence. Following the Hosnian Cataclysm and the Battle of Starkiller Base in 34 ABY, their role changed. Aarton and Nimi were called to active duty, increasing their involvement and ultimately joining the core group after the Battle of Crait.
By 35 ABY, Aarton had achieved the rank of lieutenant and was a member of the command staff at the Resistance's base on the jungle moon Ajan Kloss. As the base's quartermaster, he oversaw the distribution of resources to the pilots, soldiers, and technicians stationed there. When the Millennium Falcon, a YT-1300 light freighter, returned to the base ablaze after an intelligence mission to the Sinta Glacier Colony, Chireen, along with others, rushed to the scene and directed fire crews to both the front and rear of the damaged vessel.
Later, Chireen attended a meeting to discuss the intelligence gathered from the colony mission. Standing behind adviser Maz Kanata, he listened as Commander Poe Dameron revealed the return of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and the imminent arrival of a Sith fleet from the planet Exegol to reinforce the First Order.
Aarton Chireen's debut was in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the 2019 film in the sequel trilogy. His identity was first confirmed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, a reference book by Pablo Hidalgo. The character was portrayed by British actor Aaron Neil, credited as "Resistance Officer," whose first name was used in the character's name.
