Noe'ha'on, a planet characterized by its jungle environment, existed within the Expansion Region. Its location was designated as K-16 on the Standard Galactic Grid. Furthermore, it was situated along the hyperspace route called the Great Gran Run, connecting the celestial body Kinyen to the Takodana system located in the Mid Rim.
The first mention of Noe'ha'on in the new Star Wars canon occurred in an article by Mark Newbold on StarWars.com titled "Where in the Galaxy Are the Worlds of Star Wars: The Force Awakens?," published on January 29, 2016. A galactic map in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a boxed set from Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying released in August 2016, mistakenly placed Takodana within the Inner Rim. This error led to an incorrect depiction of Chalcedon as Noe'ha'on's nearest Rimward neighbor along the Great Gran Run. Noe'ha'on was originally conceived by Lisa Smedman for the Star Wars Legends continuity. It was introduced in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook intended for use with West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
