Nogdra was a captain within the Imperial Navy throughout the Galactic Civil War. Later on, he switched his allegiance and joined the Rebel Alliance.
Growing up in the Core Worlds, Nogdra was exposed to a diverse array of species. After enlisting in the Imperial Navy, he served on a Star Destroyer, where he witnessed numerous atrocities committed by the Empire. He saw cities destroyed to make examples and prisoners crammed into freighters with inadequate life support. These actions by the Empire horrified him. After being given command of the Corellian Corvette called the Bixby, he and his crew made the decision to defect.
While the Bixby was guarding a convoy meant to resupply Operation Strike Fear, starfighters from the Rebel's Blue Squadron appeared near the Dellalt system to engage in a quick skirmish with the convoy. Bixby saw an opportunity and communicated their desire to join the Rebellion. The Alliance then sent the transport named Dagger to link with the corvette, allowing an Alliance team to board and secure the vessel.
Nogdra volunteered to serve the Rebels as a captain. In addition, he informed them that the Dellalt system was being utilized as a staging ground for a significant Imperial undertaking known as Operation Strike Fear. This information was subsequently verified by Lieutenant Keyan Farlander during a reconnaissance mission piloting a lone R-22 Spearhead.
It appears that Nogdra is an anagram of the word 'Dragon'. Despite the fact that the name is absent from the game itself, anagrams of existing names and words are common in the Star Wars: X-Wing video game.
