The Norat system existed within the Farlax sector, which itself was situated in the Negs region of the Core Worlds. Its designation mirrored that of the Norat group and the governmental entity known as the Norat Sovereignty.
The system of Norat made its initial appearance in The Essential Atlas, a reference work from 2009 authored by Daniel Wallace and [Jason Fry]; the book situated it in grid square K-10.
