The Farlax sector, a region situated in the Core Worlds close to the Deep Core's edge, was a sector. The Koornacht Cluster was found within its boundaries.
The sectors of Farlax and Hatawa, when considered jointly, encompassed over 200 worlds with established populations. One-third of these worlds maintained connections with the New Republic, while another third remained either devoid of inhabitants or unclaimed.
Even though the Farlax sector was situated relatively near Coruscant, surveyors from the New Republic largely neglected its exploration. This lack of exploration occurred after the Galactic Empire's Black Sword Command withdrew following the Battle of Endor.
