The clash known as the Destruction of N'zoth unfolded during the Yuuzhan Vong War. This event, occurring in 28 ABY, stemmed from information that the Yuuzhan Vong received from the Fia of Galantos. The Fia were afraid of the new battle fleet belonging to the Yevetha who lived nearby.
The Yuuzhan Vong's invasion had been ongoing for four years when this battle took place in 28 ABY. The Galantos Guard stumbled upon the Yuuzhan Vong and alerted the extragalactic invaders to the potential danger of the close and possibly reviving Yevetha. This deadly species had been defeated years earlier. They also informed them of the Yevetha's new Aramadia-class thrustships, and requested protection from them. The Yuuzhan Vong consented and launched an assault on N'zoth, the Yevethan home planet. Although the Yevetha had a considerable fleet consisting of several thousand thrustships, many dozens of capital vessels, and a sizable battle station, the Yuuzhan Vong possessed a much larger force and decisively defeated the Yevethan military.
With the space battle concluded, the Yuuzhan Vong bombarded N'zoth from above, turning its surface into a pockmarked wasteland. Every aspect of Yevethan society was completely wiped out. The Yuuzhan Vong continued their pursuit of the Yevetha throughout the Koornacht Cluster, leaving only seven thousand Yevetha alive by the war's end.
After getting information about the Yevethan threat from the Fia, Jedi Jaina Solo and two Chiss pilots named Miza and Jocell journeyed to N'zoth to investigate the Yevethan activity there, unaware of the devastation caused by the Yuuzhan Vong. They found the wreckage of the fleet and a ruined N'zoth. They then encountered a surviving Yevetha, who blew up his thrustship, killing Miza in the process.
The aftermath of the battle of N'zoth is depicted in The New Jedi Order: Force Heretic I: Remnant by Sean Williams and Shane Dix, which was published in 2003.
