Aramadia-class thrustship

The Aramadia-class thrustships, also known as T-types or, humorously, Fat Men by personnel within the New Republic Defense Fleet, functioned as the primary warships for the space-based military forces of the Yevetha.

Characteristics

The Aramadia class presented a spheroid shape, measuring 240 meters in diameter. Six Aradian pulse-lifters were strategically positioned at its rear in an inverted triangular formation. The designation "thrustship" was derived directly from the presence and function of these pulse lifters.

The vessel's armament included eight turbolaser batteries, which were installed on an internal shift-track, distributed around the hull. Sophisticated targeting systems enabled the linking of up to four batteries, concentrating their firepower on a single designated target. While the linked batteries delivered significant offensive capability, the primary offensive strength of this vessel came from its projectile-launching systems. It was equipped with three proton torpedo launchers, a centrally located gravity bomb launcher capable of holding four bombs per load, and four missile batteries, each containing ten tubes. Considering its overall weapon configuration, it was classified as a medium cruiser.

Furthermore, the Aramadia class benefited from enhanced shielding capabilities. The ship's spherical design optimized the shield generators' effectiveness, facilitating uniform coverage and achieving maximum shielding efficiency with minimal energy expenditure.

These ships also had the capacity to carry 40 Yevethan D-type fighters.

History

The thrustship designs originated with the Yevetha species hailing from the planet N'zoth. Their initial designs involved sublight-capable vessels, which were employed in establishing the Duskhan League, a collective of twelve colonies, before the Galactic Empire subjected the Yevetha to enslavement. Following the Battle of Endor, the Yevetha initiated a revolt against the Imperials, successfully capturing the entirety of the Black Sword Command. Utilizing the designs of the Star Destroyer, they augmented the Black Fleet with their own thrustships, producing them in large numbers to systematically eliminate the non-Yevethan inhabitants of the Koornacht Cluster.

As the Yevetha's technological expertise grew, the Duskhan League implemented modifications to their thrustships, granting them the capability of hyperspace travel. One such thrustship, identified as the Aramadia, served as the personal transport for Viceroy Nil Spaar during a diplomatic engagement with the New Republic on Coruscant. However, these negotiations were merely a ruse employed by Spaar to assess the strength of his adversaries and to instigate a political incident aimed at turning the political structure of the New Republic against Chief of State Leia Organa Solo. This involved the Aramadia's dramatic departure from Coruscant, designed to create the impression of escaping the oppression of Princess Leia.

Subsequently, hundreds of thrustships were deployed by the Yevetha during their clandestine Great Purge of the Koornacht Cluster. These vessels were instrumental in the extermination of alien populations and the subsequent colonization of their worlds by Yevethan settlers. Following the capture of General Han Solo, Nil Spaar attempted to convince the Corellian to persuade Leia Organa Solo of the pointlessness of continued conflict by showcasing hundreds of thrustships under construction on N'zoth by the Nazfar Metalworks Guild. He further asserted that additional vessels were being produced on other worlds within the Yevethan Protectorate and that the Yevetha would not cease their actions, but this failed to dissuade General Solo. Later, as tensions escalated between the Duskhan League and the New Republic, thrustships were used as a primary warship during the Black Fleet Crisis until the Yevetha's defeat at the Battle of N'zoth.

In the aftermath of their defeat, the Yevetha initiated efforts to rebuild their fleet, incorporating numerous new thrustships into their forces. However, during the Yuuzhan Vong War, the extragalactic Yuuzhan Vong were alerted to the potential threat posed by the Yevetha by the Fia from Galantos. This prompted the brutal invaders to launch an attack, decimating the Yevetha forces, and eradicating the species, leaving behind countless burning wreckage of thrustships orbiting N'zoth.
