Norclune could be found within the Norclune system, which itself was part of the Northern Dependencies region of the Colonies.
Members of the Norclu Order underwent a pilgrimage to Norclune.
The Norclu Order viewed this planet as a sacred world. In the year 0 BBY, a group of the order's alien members, including Brother Xando, looked for transport from the Outer Rim Territories planet of Tatooine to make a pilgrimage to Norclune. Consequently, Xando and their fellow members of the Norclu Order approached the Human smuggler Han Solo in Tatooine's Chalmun's Cantina. Xando conveyed their desire for Solo to transport the group to Norclune without charge, as a gift to the Living Force, and the alien also declared that both the smuggler and his starship would be blessed upon arrival. Solo, however, responded by stating that such a long journey would be costly and expressing his disbelief in the Force, thus denying their request.

The planet Norclune received a mention in the comic story "Smuggler's Blues," authored by the Fillbach Brothers and featured in the fourteenth edition of the Star Wars Tales comic book series by Dark Horse Comics, which was released on December 11, 2002. Stories within the first to twentieth issue of Star Wars Tales were considered part of the S-canon until a non-Tales source referenced them, at which point the subject matter was elevated to C-canon status.
Jason Fry, who co-authored the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, has said that the star systems listed in the book's Appendix section are named after the most prominent planets or celestial bodies located in those systems. Therefore, this article treats the existence of Norclune as canonical within the Star Wars Legends continuity. The Essential Atlas located the Norclune system in grid square L-8.
