NovaSword
The NovaSword, a costly starfighter model, found use within the Confederacy of Independent Systems' naval forces during the Clone Wars conflict against the Galactic Republic. This fighter was employed by the Confederacy's elite ace starfighter pilots; however, many pilots opted for personalized fighters instead.
Behind the scenes
The NovaSword's existence in current Star Wars canon was established in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 addition to Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Roleplaying product line. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the NovaSword Space Superiority Fighter was initially alluded to in the second issue of the Star Wars: Obsession comic-book series, which was written by W. Haden Blackman, with illustrations by Brian Ching, and released by Dark Horse Comics on December 29, 2004.
The starfighter's complete debut occurred later in the third issue of the same comic series, penned by W. Haden Blackman, with art by Brian Ching, and published by Dark Horse Comics on February 2, 2005. The fighter's designation was subsequently revealed in The Force Unleashed Campaign Guide, a 2008 supplement by Wizards of the Coast for their Star Wars Roleplaying Game Saga Edition Core Rulebook.
