Octani were an alien race inhabiting the galaxy. Notable for their height and large build, they possessed tan colored skin, a quartet of eyes, and four arms.
On a mission to acquire parts for the Resistance, Poe Dameron and Finn came across several Octani. These parts, obtained from an Octani named Dhar Wat, were later seized by First Order officers aboard a train.
Visually, the Octani are the same as the Volpai, a sentient species that first appeared in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars' second season episode "Lethal Trackdown," the season's twenty-second episode. Additionally, an individual resembling an Octani with feminine characteristics mirrors those with feminine traits from the Codru-Ji species in Star Wars Legends, as depicted in Ultimate Alien Anthology, a 2003 supplement for Star Wars Roleplaying Game. Until Lucasfilm offers a clearer explanation regarding the differences between these species, this article will consider them as distinct entities.
