Oje N'deeb was a male Neimoidian who was associated with the Trade Federation, a massive corporation under Neimoidian control.
Following the onset of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, a conflict between the Confederacy of Independent Systems and the Galactic Republic, Oje N'deeb spearheaded a group within the Trade Federation. This faction aimed to seize control of the organization from Viceroy Nute Gunray and his supporters. N'deeb and his faction believed that Gunray's actions, including the Invasion of Naboo a decade earlier, had damaged the Trade Federation's image. To achieve this, N'deeb secretly used companies under his control to arrange a secret meeting with a loyalist Senator from the Galactic Senate. However, after Padmé Amidala of Naboo informed her allies in the Senate about N'deeb's plans, Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith who was publicly Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine of the Republic, became aware of N'deeb's faction. Palpatine, who initiated the Clone Wars for his own ends, then devised a plan to eliminate them.
Despite his anger towards N'deeb's faction, Sidious chose not to immediately destroy it. He understood that its existence could strengthen the Outer Rim territories and prolong the war. Sidious hoped that the people N'deeb aimed to help would become disillusioned with the Republic when N'deeb's promised new future failed to materialize. Recognizing that this would make N'deeb's eventual demise even more satisfying, Sidious decided to allow N'deeb to continue his activities for the time being.
Oje N'deeb made his debut in the young-adult novel Queen's Hope, which was released in 2022 and authored by E. K. Johnston. Following George Lucas's established tradition of naming Neimoidian characters after figures in American politics, Johnston drew inspiration for N'deeb's name from US president Joe Biden, stating that both were "not the worst."
