Onderon separatists

The Onderonian separatists comprised a faction of Onderonians active both prior to and during the Onderon Civil War. Their agenda centered around the forceful removal of Queen Talia from power, with the intention of installing her cousin, General Vaklu, as her successor. Vaklu, in turn, aligned himself with Darth Nihilus. The group's unofficial designation stemmed from their secondary objective: Onderon's withdrawal from the Galactic Republic—a union established merely five decades prior—and a restoration of its sovereign status.

The separatists perceived an opportunity to realize their ambitions when General Vaklu accused Queen Talia of treason, thereby igniting the Onderon Civil War. However, they faced defeat at the Second Battle of Onderon, succumbing to the Onderon Royalists under the leadership of Meetra Surik, who received backing from both the Galactic Republic and the Mandalorians.
