Oovri II

Oovri II was a planetary body that resided within the Oovri system. The Oovri system itself was situated inside the Tungra sector, which could be found in the Western Reaches area of the Outer Rim Territories. During the Galactic Empire's reign, the Imperial TIE fighter pilot Makkor von Urron engaged in a skirmish above Oovri II. His opponents were a group of insurgents flying Y-wing starfighters. During this conflict, von Urron successfully destroyed eleven enemy craft before sustaining an injury himself. This achievement of the pilot in the battle was later highlighted in a brief profile featured in the Imperial propaganda publication "Aces of the Empire," specifically the 3 ABY edition.

Development History

Originally, the intention was to include Oovri II in the 2012 sourcebook titled The Essential Guide to Warfare, authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. However, the section planned to mention this celestial body was removed prior to the book's publication. This information regarding Oovri II was subsequently revealed in 2014 as a component of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut. This was a series of articles posted on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss, and it presented various pieces of content that had been excised from The Essential Guide to Warfare. The Online Companion for the 2009 reference work The Essential Atlas, which was available on StarWars.com, placed the Oovri system, and consequently Oovri II, within the grid coordinates K-18.
