Ord Wylan

Ord Wylan, a world, was situated within the Oktos sector of the Mid Rim. Functioning as a Galactic Republic Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost during the Pius Dea Era, specifically from 12,000 BBY to 11,000 BBY, this planet later saw Lando Calrissian, a known gambler, briefly holding the license rights to its taxi services after a sabacc game victory, only to relinquish them soon after the Battle of Yavin.

Description

Within the Ord Wylan system, which is a component of the Oktos sector in the Mid Rim's Slice region, lay the world known as Ord Wylan.

History

During the Pius Dea Era, spanning from 12,000 BBY to 11,000 BBY, Ord Wylan acted as a Galactic Republic Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost, despite its location just outside the Republic's territorial space. Notably, this world served as a strategic launch point for Republic offensives against Hutt-aligned planets such as Toydaria and Circumtore during the First Pius Dea Crusade in 11,965 BBY and the Thirty-Fourth Pius Dea Crusade in 11,057 BBY, respectively.

Millennia following the Battle of Yavin, Ord Wylan featured a taxi service, the licensing rights to which were highly coveted. The gambler named Lando Calrissian briefly acquired these rights through a sabacc game, only to lose them shortly thereafter in a wager concerning the brand of liquor being drinking by those playing. This event was reported by Cynabar's InfoNet from the Nar Shaddaa Node on the Hutt Space moon of Nar Shaddaa on the date 36:1:16.

Behind the scenes

Paul Sudlow initially presented Ord Wylan in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" section of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal 5, released in February of 1995. The reference book The Essential Atlas from 2009 positioned the Ord Wylan system, and consequently the world itself, within grid square R-12.
