Oric Traless

Oric Traless was a Jedi Master of the Nautolan species (a male individual), who belonged to the Jedi Order. During the Cold War era, a period of tension between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, he held a position on the Jedi High Council. His primary role on the Council was to act as the chief combat advisor.

Biography

Three centuries after the conclusion of the Jedi Civil War, Oric Traless, a male Nautolan with sensitivity to the Force, underwent training by the Jedi Order to become a Jedi. Following the Great Galactic War, the Treaty of Coruscant was signed between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, leading the Jedi Order to withdraw from Coruscant and establish their base on Tython, their ancestral world. As the long-lasting Cold War persisted, Traless achieved the rank of Jedi Master and was granted a seat on the Jedi High Council. Traless utilized a green lightsaber in battle. In 3637 BBY, when the Sith Empire attacked Tython, Master Traless defended the Jedi Temple, but was killed in action against the invading Sith forces.

Behind the scenes

Oric Traless made his debut appearance in The Old Republic: Fatal Alliance, a 2010 novel that served as a tie-in to the then-forthcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic video game. Because Fatal Alliance was written early in the development of The Old Republic, the metaseries largely disregarded it. Nevertheless, Traless reappeared in continuity in April 2014 with the release of Game Update 2.7: Invasion, which included the Tactical Flashpoint: Assault on Tython. This made him the first character from Fatal Alliance to reappear in the main storyline, besides Satele Shan.
