Orto, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was a frigid planet and the original homeworld of the Ortolan species. Due to Orto's extreme cold, the indigenous population needed to ingest substantial quantities of food to cultivate a warming layer of fat.
In the time of the Imperial Era, Orto possessed a small Imperial presence; this presence grew after a particular event. The city of Cheddatown gave Orto a bit of tourist attraction.
