The Outcast village was an area within the Undercity of the planet Taris. It was a place where Outcasts originating from the [Upper City],(/article/upper_city) along with their families, made their home. To shield the inhabitants from the rakghouls that wandered the Undercity, the village was fortified with protective walls. In the year 3956 BBY, Revan and Carth Onasi made their way to the Undercity, searching for Bastila Shan. Zelka Forn maintained a secondary medical facility in the village, though it was never actually seen. This facility would eventually contain samples of Rakghoul serum.
When Revan gave the residents journals pointing toward the legendary Promised Land, the Outcasts left their village. It is believed that the village was annihilated by the orbital bombardment ordered by Darth Malak.
More than 300 years afterwards, during the era known as the Cold War, a band of pirates stumbled upon the village's remains. They discovered a vial of Rakghoul serum, which was subsequently enhanced and replicated by a scientist of the Republic. The Republic then came to possess it. Like the rest of Taris, the village came under the control of the occupying Sith.
In the non-canonical dark-side conclusion, the Outcasts do not leave the village if Revan chooses to give the journals to Igear so that they can be destroyed.
