The booster pod, technically known as the Overdrive Thruster, was a prototype, extremely powerful booster engine. It was attached to the back of Poe Dameron's T-70 X-wing starfighter, named Black One, right before the Resistance's base on D'Qar was evacuated. This device gave Dameron a short period of increased speed, which he used to take out the [Fulminatrix]’s(/article/fulminatrix) defensive turrets, an action that resulted in the destruction of the Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought.
