Paarkos, a Gand of the male variety, existed throughout the era of the Cold War. The Galactic Republic incarcerated him within the Belsavis prison for reasons not clearly documented. Around 3641 BBY, during the invasion of Belsavis, Paarkos, along with fellow inmates Chaney Barrow, Ohta, and Kanjon Slyke, found himself liberated from his confinement. Their liberator, who masqueraded as a prisoner, was actually Cipher Nine, an operative working for Imperial Intelligence. These particular prisoners were selected due to their unique talents, and they were tasked with devising a method to infiltrate Megasecurity Ward 23. To circumvent detection by the SCORPIO security system, they conceived a strategy involving the reprogramming of security droid units. These droids were then instructed to create widespread chaos, setting off numerous alarms simultaneously across various locations, with the goal of overwhelming SCORPIO's processing abilities. Ultimately, their scheme proved successful, although SCORPIO was able to sever its connection to the network and transfer its consciousness back into a droid body.
