During the time of the Clone Wars, the Naboo Senator, Padmé Amidala, sometimes piloted a unique N-1 starfighter. The chromium plating of its exterior represented the presence of royalty within Naboo traditions.
Ahsoka Tano was once providing Padmé Amidala with instruction in starfighter_combat within a region of space populated by asteroids and a comet, an event that took place in the Clone Wars timeline. Amidala, with R2-D2 as her co-pilot in her personalized N-1, and Tano, who was piloting a regular N-1 starfighter, flew by an asteroid and inadvertently activated a sleeping modified droid starfighter. The droid began to attack them, disabling Tano's fighter in the process. Consequently, Amidala was left to confront the droid fighter by herself. Aware that droids lacked the ability to adapt, the senator guided her fighter into the comet's tail, concealing herself from the droid. After the droid fighter flew past her hiding place, she came out from behind the comet and damaged it by firing her ship's blaster cannons, which led to it crashing into the asteroid.
