Panda group consisted of two Lambda-class T-4a shuttles that were utilized by the Alliance to Restore the Republic throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War. Following the Alliance's successful effort to strand the Imperial EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate known as Priam in proximity to Kalla VII, General Jan Dodonna issued the command for a "board and capture" mission targeting the Priam.
The ship was rendered inoperable by an attack carried out by Gold Squadron's Y-wings, and Delta-class DX-9 stormtrooper transports belonging to Assault group deployed commandos from Alliance Special Forces with the objective of seizing control of the vessel. After the capture was complete, Panda 1 transported officers, and Panda 2 conveyed an Alliance crew to assume command of the ship, while transport group Jordi delivered necessary provisions. With all transports on board, the Rebel forces, accompanied by the recently acquired frigate, initiated a jump into hyperspace.
