The Panop, a starship that belonged to Boss Carpo of the Carpo Crime Syndicate, functioned as a stronghold for Carpo's guards. It was situated in orbit above the planet Lanz Carpo. During a mission where Leia Organa and Han Solo of the Rebel Alliance were dispatched to Lanz Carpo with the goal of deceiving the Galactic Empire into believing Carpo opposed them, District Advocate Dar Champion proposed an alternative: to deceive Carpo into removing his ship from the planet to engage the Empire. Nevertheless, following Champion and Organa's uploading of fabricated communications to further their scheme, Solo was apprehended by Carpo's guards and transported to the Panop.
