Pashna Starkiller, a male Mon Calamari from the Legends continuity, was affiliated with the Rebel Alliance. While operating in Bela Vistal on Corellia during 1 ABY, he orchestrated the assassination of an Imperial officer whose actions posed a threat to Rebel activities on Tralus.

In the year 1 ABY, a male Mon Calamari known as Pashna Starkiller found himself in the city of Bela Vistal, located on the planet Corellia. It was there that he became aware of a scheme hatched by a particularly cruel Imperial commander—an individual the Alliance had been monitoring closely since his promotion. This Imperial had successfully commandeered a Rebel CR90 corvette, eliminating its crew, with the intention of crashing it into a Rebel-held city on Tralus. Despite his reservations about resorting to lethal measures, Starkiller concluded that assassinating the commander was the only viable option to safeguard the city. Consequently, he enlisted a spacer sympathetic to the Rebel cause to infiltrate the corvette and carry out the assassination. Starkiller initially dispatched his associate to secure the necessary documentation for infiltrating the vessel. Once that was done, he arranged for their transport to the corvette, where they successfully neutralized the commander, preventing the attack on Tralus and saving the Rebels stationed there.
Although he was a commander involved in wartime operations, Starkiller was not fond of resorting to assassination, and it took significant circumstances to push him to consider such methods. Nevertheless, he was prepared to set aside his personal reservations when the security of the Rebellion demanded it.
The character Pashna Starkiller initially appeared in Michael Allen Horne's Dark Empire Sourcebook, which was released in 1993. His name was later referenced in other publications, including Alliance Intelligence Reports and Rules of Engagement: The Rebel SpecForce Handbook, as a member of a Rebel group that also included Jan Dodonna and Vanden Willard. In 2003, the massively multiplayer online game Star Wars Galaxies featured a Mon Calamari character named Pashna Starkiller as one of its non-player characters. Given that none of the previous sources had established Starkiller's physical characteristics, gender, or species, this was generally considered the first visual representation of the character, although fan reactions varied from surprise to the opinion that "Starkiller" was an inappropriate name for a Mon Calamari.
Further controversy arose in 2012 when the Rogues Gallery article in Star Wars Insider 133 identified one of the Humans attending the Rebel celebration in the Massassi Temple at the conclusion of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope as Pashna Starkiller. In response to the controversy, the article's author, Leland Chee, clarified that the decision was made to treat the two Starkillers as distinct characters. Galaxies had previously created similar duplicates of existing characters, such as portraying the Near-Human Zekka Thyne as a Bothan and the Selonian Chertyl Ruluwoor as a Human.
The name "Starkiller" has its origins in the earliest versions of the Star Wars script, where it served as the surname for several characters whose traits were later incorporated into Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Other characters within canon bearing the name "Starkiller" include Bendak Starkiller from Knights of the Old Republic and Banol Starkiller from Galaxies. Given that the latter is a Rodian and the species of the former is unknown, the likelihood of a familial connection between Pashna and them is minimal. Additionally, Starkiller is the codename used by Galen Marek, Darth Vader's secret apprentice in the video game The Force Unleashed.
