Pekt's clan
A powerful family of Trandoshans established itself on the world of Trandosha, accumulating considerable influence and wealth. The enslaver Pekt was a notable figure within this family, infamous for his cruel mistreatment of Wookiees before the Liberation of Kashyyyk.
Description
On the planet Trandosha, situated in the Kashyyyk system, a Trandoshan family of great wealth and power maintained a domain. This family utilized servants and engaged in the age-old conflict between the Trandoshans and the Wookiees from neighboring Kashyyyk, holding Wookiee captives within a garrison.
History
The sadistic Pekt was born to a wealthy male member of the family, becoming renowned among his people for intensifying the war against the Wookiees and growing the family's power. As a young Trandoshan child, Pekt began torturing his family's servants using slave collars and other restraints. As he matured, he began experimenting on the family's Wookiee prisoners, eventually using his father's funds to study their biology and create restraints and techniques to effectively capture and enslave them.
Pekt gained notoriety for his ability to slay Wookiees, collaborating with the Trade Federation during their unsuccessful colonization and subsequent war with the Wookiees on the moon Alaris Prime, which took place between 39 BBY and 36 BBY. The Trandoshan bounty hunter Bossk also commissioned Pekt to design several custom weapons, rewarding him with valuable Wookiee furs that he gifted to his offspring. Following the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Imperial Moff Hindane Darcc employed Pekt to oversee the slave operations on Kashyyyk throughout the Imperial Period. Ultimately, the Trandoshan met his end on the Avatar Orbital Platform—which he himself had designed—in orbit around the planet, at the hands of forces led by the Wookiee Chewbacca during the Liberation of Kashyyyk in 4 ABY.
Behind the scenes
Pekt's initial appearance was in the 2001 LucasArts computer game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, where a DataBank entry on the character mentioned his family ties.
