Pekt, a Trandoshan male hailing from Trandosha, was born into a family of influence and power, ultimately becoming a slaver. Following the Battle of Endor, he allied himself with Imperial Moff Hindane Darcc with the aim of enslaving the Wookiees of Kashyyyk. A Wookiee force, spearheaded by Chewbacca, subsequently chased him and Darcc from Kashyyyk. Pekt met his end during the assault on the Avatar Orbital Platform.
Born on the homeworld of his species, Trandosha, Pekt was a male Trandoshan. Being a member of a prominent clan, he began expanding its influence from an early age. As a young hatchling, he conducted experiments on servants using slave restraints. Upon reaching the molt stage, Pekt shifted his focus to the Wookiee prisoners held within his clan's garrison, quickly establishing a reputation for his sadistic tendencies.
Recognizing the immense strength of the Wookiees, Pekt utilized his father's wealth to delve into their biology, developing methods for their capture and enslavement. He gained notoriety when bounty hunter Bossk sought his expertise in crafting specialized weapons, in exchange for which Pekt received valuable Wookiee pelts, presented as gifts to his egg-litter. During one particular incident, a Wookiee managed to break free, seizing Pekt and tearing off his arms while Pekt simply stared. The Wookiee was then killed, and Pekt returned to Trandosha. Within a month, his arms had regenerated, a characteristic of Trandoshans, and he resumed his activities at the camp.

Between 39 BBY and 36 BBY, Pekt was allied with the Trade Federation during their illegal colonization of Alaris Prime, a moon orbiting Alaris within the Kashyyyk system. When the Wookiee colonists rightfully landed there, they encountered and destroyed a Trade Federation power core, which had already been damaged by gundarks inhabiting the moon. A B1-series battle droid named OOL-2 discovered the remains of the power core and identified the gundarks to Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, who then instructed the droid to eliminate the gundarks, skin them, and provide their pelts to the Trandoshans.
The Wookiees and the Trade Federation clashed when both attacked the gundark nest. The ensuing conflicts led to the destruction of several Trade Federation installations, before the Wookiee leader Chewbacca orchestrated a final assault on their last base. Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn arrived to participate in the Battle for Alaris Prime, spotting several of Pekt's transport ships and correctly identifying them as belonging to Trandoshan slavers. The Wookiee objective was to destroy the Trade Federation fortress, which they accomplished using energy pummels. Jinn informed the Wookiees that two of Pekt's transport ships escaped from the wreckage, with the Trandoshan declaring that the Wookiee victory was a minor setback and that he would return because Wookiee pelts remained valuable.

As time passed, Pekt's reputation as a Wookiee-exterminator led to numerous assignments throughout the galaxy, working for bounty hunters, criminal organizations, and eventually the Galactic Empire. He assembled a task force of former Trandoshan Army regulars, and it was said that he could clear a Wookiee village in under a standard week.
When the Empire assumed control of Kashyyyk, following counsel from Trandosha, they enslaved the planet's major cities. Moff Hindane Darcc chose Pekt and other Trandoshan slavers to oversee the slaving operation, and Pekt designed the Avatar Orbital Platform, a slaving hub in Kashyyyk's orbit. Pekt realized that as long as the Empire controlled Kashyyyk, he could operate without fear of reprisal, and he intensified both his experiments and his slaving activities.
However, in 4 ABY, after the Battle of Endor, the enslaved Wookiees, freed and gathered by New Republic members Han Solo and Chewbacca, launched an attack on Pekt and Darcc's holdings. After the Wookiee army destroyed Darcc's Palace, Pekt and the Moff escaped in a shuttle, carrying a cargo of Wookiee slaves, to the heavily defended Avatar Orbital Platform. They took refuge within the station's fortress. The Wookiee army pursued them to Avatar and disabled the station's airbases, preventing their escape. With the arrival of Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Rogue Squadron, their fortress was destroyed. Following an exchange of insults with Solo, Pekt and Darcc were soon killed, a significant contribution to the Kashyyyk Resistance. The orbital station was destroyed shortly after.

From a young age, Pekt experimented with slavery restraints. When a Wookiee attempted to tear off his arms, he merely stared back coldly. Like Trandoshans in general, Pekt was not known for his honesty or bravery. By the time of his death, he was infamous for his brutality and extreme sadism. Pekt also found Humans to be unattractive.
Frank Welker provided the voice for Pekt in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. His first canonical mention appeared in the game's strategy guide, and he subsequently appeared in the game's Chewbacca campaign. He and Darcc escape in a scripted event at the conclusion of the fifth mission. In the sixth mission, set on Avatar, the player's objective is to eliminate Pekt and Darcc.
