A powerful family of Trandoshans held sway over the planet of Trandosha, accumulating considerable influence and wealth. Notorious for his cruel treatment of Wookiees before the Liberation of Kashyyyk, the slaver Pekt was a key figure within this family.
A Trandoshan family of considerable wealth and influence established a domain on the planet of Trandosha, located within the Kashyyyk system. This family employed various servants and actively engaged in the age-old conflict between the Trandoshans and the Wookiees from the neighboring planet Kashyyyk, maintaining Wookiee prisoners within a garrison.

The sadistic Pekt was fathered by a wealthy male member of the family, and he rose to prominence among his people for intensifying the war against the Wookiees and enlarging the family's dominion. Even as a hatchling, Pekt conducted experiments involving torture on his family's servants, utilizing slave collars and restraints. During his adolescence, he began experimenting on the family's Wookiee captives, eventually utilizing his father's resources to study their biology and create methods and equipment for their efficient capture and enslavement.
Pekt gained notoriety for his skill in killing Wookiees, collaborating with the Trade Federation during their unsuccessful attempt at colonization and war against the Wookiees on the moon of Alaris Prime, which took place between 39 BBY and 36 BBY. The bounty hunter Bossk also employed Pekt to design several specialized weapons, compensating him with valuable Wookiee pelts that he gifted to his egg litter. Following the rise of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Imperial Moff Hindane Darcc hired Pekt to oversee the slave operations on Kashyyyk throughout the Imperial Period. Ultimately, the Trandoshan met his end on the Avatar Orbital Platform—a structure of his own design—in orbit around the planet, at the hands of forces led by the Wookiee Chewbacca during the Liberation of Kashyyyk in 4 ABY.
Pekt's initial appearance was in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, developed by LucasArts. The game contained a DataBank entry dedicated to the character, which referenced his family ties.
