The conflict known as the Battle for Alaris Prime took place across the years 39 BBY to 36 BBY. This battle was fought between the Wookiee colonists and the Trade Federation. It represented the decisive engagement in the conflict between these two factions, a struggle centered on control of the moon named Alaris Prime. Chewbacca, the Wookiee leader, had been launching attacks against Trade Federation settlements. His final objective was the destruction of the Trade Federation's primary base, a push to eliminate the enemy presence entirely. He aimed to obliterate the Federation's fortress, acting upon the counsel of his Jedi advisor, Qui-Gon Jinn. At a base constructed near the Federation's stronghold, Chewbacca and his fellow Wookiees, including his cousin Shoran and father Attichitcuk, enhanced their defensive capabilities and technology. Meanwhile, SRAM-13, the Trade Federation commander, initiated hostilities by launching attacks on Wookiee sentry posts.
After the Wookiees completed the construction of their own fortress, Jinn arrived at the base to actively participate in the battle. SRAM-13 dispatched light droid starfighters to scout the Wookiee base, which prompted the Wookiees to reinforce their air defenses. The Wookiees eventually amassed significant forces, including starfighters and energy pummels, which they used to penetrate the Trade Federation base and demolish its fortress. Pekt, the company's Trandoshan ally, managed to escape the collapsing fortress. This victory allowed the Wookiees to proceed with their colonization of Alaris Prime, transforming the moon into a prosperous technological center for the Galactic Republic.
Between the years of 39 BBY and 36 BBY, the moon of Alaris Prime became the arena for a war between the competing colonies established by the Trade Federation and the Wookiee colonists. Following a near-fatal ambush orchestrated by the Trade Federation against Attichitcuk, the previous leader and his father, Chewbacca assumed leadership of the Wookiee colonists. With the guidance of Master Qui-Gon Jinn, an advisor appointed by the Jedi Order, Chewbacca initiated attacks on Trade Federation settlements. These attacks included strikes against a listening array and an outpost. Recognizing the effectiveness of these tactics, Chewbacca decided to launch a full-scale assault on the Trade Federation's main base on Alaris Prime, a location discovered by Wookiee scouts.

The Wookiees strategically established a base south of the Federation settlement. Shoran, Chewbacca's cousin, played a key role in constructing sections of the defensive walls. Jinn predicted that the Wookiees could secure victory in the impending battle by destroying the Trade Federation's fortress. Furthermore, the Jedi sought and obtained permission from the Jedi High Council to personally engage in the conflict, contingent upon the Wookiees constructing their own fortress. The base's initial defense force consisted of several Wookiees, including a recovering Attichitcuk, Chewbacca, Shoran, seven bowcaster troopers, two HummBike speeder scouts, and two dragon troopers. The Wookiee workers at the base then dedicated themselves to reinforcing the walls and gathering essential resources, such as muja fruit, carbon from the surrounding forests, nova crystals, and ore.

SRAM-13, the commander of the Trade Federation Droid Army, initiated the battle with a preliminary strike. He deployed a force of battle droids, specifically five beetle droids and a droideka, to attack the Wookiee sentry posts established to provide early warning of Federation movements. Jinn advised the Wookiees to enhance their defenses by constructing turrets and to establish a War Center for researching advancements in weapons and armor. After acquiring the necessary resources, the Wookiees advanced their level of technology, enabling them to construct their own fortress. SRAM-13 then dispatched a group of three light droid starfighters to conduct reconnaissance of the Wookiee base. Despite Jinn's warning for the Wookiees to prepare for an attack, the fighters only executed a reconnaissance mission and refrained from attacking the base.
To prepare for a potential air assault, Jinn urged the Wookiees to develop their own aerial defenses before the return of the fighters. This included constructing anti-air turrets and establishing an airbase to facilitate the construction of their own aircraft. Subsequently, four droid starfighters launched an attack on another sentry post, and a separate fighter flew over the Wookiee base. Following the completion of the fortress, Jinn arrived at the Wookiee base aboard a Naboo Royal Lifter. Upon his arrival, Jinn observed several Trade Federation starships, which he correctly identified as belonging to the Federation's Trandoshan allies who were conspiring to enslave the Wookiees.
Shoran's prior discovery of a Jedi holocron on Alaris Prime led to the identification of an ancient grove. The Wookiees located this grove by uncovering a concealed path through a treeline near their base. Jinn journeyed to the grove and unlocked the ancient knowledge of Jedi Concentration, a Force power that granted him the ability to seize control of enemy structures and repurpose them for the benefit of the Wookiees.

The Wookiees expanded their military infrastructure by constructing factories to produce mechs and heavy weaponry. Eventually, they assembled a force consisting of ten Agr starfighters, three Heavy Blade bombers, three energy pummels, five Sentinel mechs, and five heavy bowcaster troopers. With this force prepared, the Wookiee leaders and Jinn advanced towards the Trade Federation base. After eliminating the turrets positioned outside the base, they deployed the bombers to breach the outer walls and turrets, while the fighters targeted the droids within. With a clear path established, the Wookiee ground troops advanced into the base and utilized the pummels, whose armor provided resistance against the fortress's turret fire, to destroy the building and conclude the battle.

While Jinn celebrated the Wookiee victory, he noticed the departure of two Neimoidian transports from the ruins of the fortress, the same ships he had observed earlier. Aboard one of these transports, Pekt, the Trandoshan leader, vowed that the Wookiees had not seen the last of him. The Battle for Alaris Prime marked the definitive end of the Trade Federation's colony on Alaris Prime. While still stationed on Alaris Prime, Jinn communicated the victory to the Jedi Council, expressing his satisfaction with Chewbacca's progress and his readiness to explore the wider galaxy. Under Wookiee control, Alaris Prime flourished as a technological hub within the Galactic Republic, achieving economic prosperity under Chewbacca's leadership.
However, in 22 BBY, battle droids reappeared on the moon during multiple incursions during the Clone Wars. During this conflict, the Trade Federation joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems in its struggle against the Republic. With the rise of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Pekt's earlier words materialized. He participated in the mass enslavement of the Wookiees of Kashyyyk. Ultimately, Chewbacca thwarted his plans during the Liberation of Kashyyyk in 4 ABY.

The Battle for Alaris Prime is presented as the seventh and concluding level, titled "The Battle for Alaris Prime," within the Wookiee tutorial campaign of Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, a video game developed by LucasArts. The game was released on November 11, 2001. The battle was initially mentioned in the strategy guide for the game published by Prima Games' and authored by Steven L. Kent, which was released on November 7, 2001. Steven L. Kent, the author of the Prima guide, described the battle as a fitting conclusion to the tutorial campaign. It provides the player with a comprehensive range of technology and units while maintaining a relatively secure environment. In the level, the player assumes control of the Wookiees and must destroy the Trade Federation fortress to achieve victory. The battle results in immediate defeat if any of the player's unique hero units, namely Chewbacca, Shoran, Attichitcuk, or Qui-Gon Jinn, are killed. The Trade Federation has the potential to create additional forces if granted sufficient time to acquire the necessary resources, including a bio cannon and additional battle droids.
If the player locates the ancient grove, they can utilize Jinn to acquire the ability of Jedi Concentration. This ability can be researched by certain civilizations in the standard game mode but is otherwise inaccessible in the level because the player cannot build a Jedi Temple to research it. Cut dialogue by Jinn suggests that the player would originally have had access to additional Jedi units during the battle. However, in contrast to the standard game mode, the player would then be unable to create any more Jedi. This restriction is justified in-universe by Jinn, who states that Jedi law prevents too many Jedi from being assigned on any given mission.
