The Trade Federation's military installation was erected on the lunar body Alaris Prime sometime between the dates of 39 BBY and 36 BBY. Its purpose was the mass production of B1-series combat droids for the Trade Federation Droid Army. The installation consisted of a pair of structures: a garrison and a reactor, both of which were weakly defended by a perimeter wall. This outpost met its end when it was obliterated in a conflict over control of the moon. The victors were the Trade Federation's adversaries, a group of Wookiee settlers under the leadership of Chewbacca.
The Trade Federation's military base was constructed upon the surface of the moon known as Alaris Prime. It was situated within a relatively small open area, closely bordering a nearby waterway. This location was selected during the Trade Federation's unlawful attempt to establish a colony on the planet. The base was almost entirely enclosed by woodlands, with the exception of a short, unobstructed route leading southward to the river, which served as the sole means of entry. The base was comprised of a central barracks, where B1-series combat droids were assembled, and a generator that supplied the necessary energy to accelerate the soldier center's android manufacturing rate. A flimsy wall and a guarded entrance encircled the base, and four watchtowers were positioned along the approach path to alert the Trade Federation forces to any incoming threats.
The construction of the outpost took place during the conflict between the Trade Federation and the rightful Wookiee colonists of Alaris Prime. This war spanned the years of 39 BBY to 36 BBY, and the outpost's purpose was to supply B1 combat droids to the Trade Federation Droid Army. GWC-04 served as the commanding officer, overseeing a military unit consisting of five battle droids. As part of the war effort, the Trade Federation launched an offensive against the Wookiee Chieftain named Attichitcuk. In retaliation, his offspring, Chewbacca, devised a plan to expel the Trade Federation from the moon, selecting the outpost as his initial objective. In preparation for the assault, the Wookiees established a forward operating base to the south of the outpost, situated on the opposite side of the river.
Once his reconnaissance forces had pinpointed the location of the base, Chewbacca led a strike team of twelve Wookiees across the river. This team included bowcaster wielding infantry, grenade infantry, and katarn-mounted cavalry. They then initiated the assault. Following the advice of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, a counselor to the Wookiees, the cavalry and grenade infantry targeted the light walls first, recognizing their vulnerability compared to the main gate. These forces then advanced through the resulting breach to destroy the troop center, while the bowcaster infantry neutralized the five battle droids that were defending the outpost. Chewbacca proceeded to dismantle the Trade Federation's remaining installations in order to eliminate their presence on Alaris Prime.
The Trade Federation outpost was initially revealed in a preview featured on IGN's website on October 10, 2001, as part of the marketing for the LucasArts interactive entertainment title Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Later, a description of the outpost was included in Prima Games' accompanying strategy manual written by Steven L. Kent, which was published on November 7, 2001. The outpost then appeared in the game itself upon its release on November 11.
The outpost is featured in "Exploration and Transport," the fifth mission of the Attichitcuk campaign, where the player's objective is to amass a Wookiee army and destroy the base. The outpost's location is immediately visible on the mini-map from the start, to help the player understand the game's mechanics. In other missions, enemy bases must be scouted before they appear on the map. The strategy guide mentions that a small number of battle droids are positioned along the path leading to the base, but these droids are not actually present in the game.
