A plaeryin bol
A deadly venom-spitting creature, the plaeryin bol served as a weapon. The Yuuzhan Vong utilized it, frequently implanting it in place of an eyeball. Nom Anor, an Executor, famously employed it, as did the Yuuzhan Vong operative Dulac. In operation, the plaeryin bol's 'pupil' would expand before projecting its venom. It possessed an effective range of approximately 10 meters. Activation of the weapon was achieved through a mere twitch of the user's eyelid.

Following deployment, the plaeryin bol would regenerate its venom supply gradually, rendering it a discreet and reusable armament. A further advantage was its capacity to inflict damage that was, to some extent, reversible. An antidote, typically stored within a small syringe concealed in a finger, could neutralize the plaeryin bol's otherwise lethal effects. This characteristic made it a valuable instrument of torture, employed to extract information from victims in exchange for the antidote.
However, the plaeryin bol had its limitations, becoming virtually ineffective and hazardous to the user when utilized in the presence of water. Should one attempt to discharge the weapon during, say, a heavy downpour, the plaeryin bol's venom would, at best, be diverted by the rain or, at worst, be redirected back toward the attacker.
