Poe Dameron's X-wing fighter

Poe Dameron's X-wing fighter, also known as Poe's X-wing, refers to a T-70 X-wing starfighter belonging to the Resistance. This particular starfighter was piloted by Commander Poe Dameron during the war that occurred between the Resistance and the First Order.

Characteristics

In contrast to his cherished Black One, which sported a black and orange color scheme, this X-wing was painted light gray and orange, accented with blue. On occasion, Dameron would briefly adorn the hull of his new X-wing with a design reminiscent of his previous craft as a form of homage.

History

Poe's X-wing at the Ajan Kloss Resistance base

After Black One was destroyed, Poe Dameron acquired an orange-colored X-wing as its replacement. This fighter played a crucial role in the Battle of Exegol, where Dameron spearheaded the Resistance's efforts to prevent the Xyston-class Star Destroyers belonging to the Sith Eternal's fleet, known as the Final Order, from launching their attack to dominate the galaxy and establish a new Sith Empire. As the battle commenced, Poe Dameron piloted the fighter to engage several TIE/dg starfighters that were launched from the Sith Star Destroyers. His goal was to clear a path for the Exegol landing team so they could land and destroy the navigation tower. However, the navigation signal was rerouted to the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Steadfast, enabling Enric Pryde to personally guide the fleet's departure. This forced Finn to abort the ground invasion, but he then decided to launch an assault on the command ship. Poe Dameron gathered his wingmen, including Temmin Wexley, to provide cover for the landing ship, ensuring the safe arrival of Finn and the other fighters. While Finn and Jannah confronted the Sith troopers in an attempt to disable the navigation signal, Poe's X-wing eliminated several Sith TIE fighters to provide support. Subsequently, Poe instructed the remaining pilots to target the Sith Star Destroyers directly, as they felt that no assistance was forthcoming.

Poe's X-wing in flight

The Resistance began to suffer significant losses as Sith TIEs shot down numerous fighters, causing Poe to feel despair and hopelessness. However, Poe then heard Lando Calrissian over the comlink, announcing the arrival of reinforcements. This allowed Poe to maneuver the X-wing to a safer location, realizing that Lando had brought a huge fleet to support the Resistance. Poe then instructed all the pilots to attack the underbelly cannons of the Sith Star Destroyers, and the battle began to shift in their favor. Shortly after their arrival, Darth Sidious, having returned to his former self, used Force lightning to disable all the ships, including Poe Dameron's X-wing. As Poe Dameron's X-wing was struck by Force lightning, he started to lose control of the ship and desperately called for help. The X-wing's control systems were restored when Poe informed the others that they had one final opportunity to destroy the Sith Star Destroyers' cannons, just as Rey channeled the powers of past Jedi spirits to defeat Sidious in a final showdown. After the destruction of the Steadfast, Poe used the X-wing to eliminate the remaining defenseless Sith fleet and attempted to rescue Finn and Jannah, but Lando arrived to assist in the rescue. The Resistance then returned to their base to celebrate their hard-fought victory.
