Project Chimera's purpose was to study the corrupting influence of the Nightmare Lands on alien fauna; this region was located on the planet Voss, and the team was part of the Imperial Science Bureau. The team managed to expose foreign wildlife to the Nightmare Lands. However, they were ultimately overcome by the very effects they were studying. Given the critical importance of the team's findings to Imperial activities in dangerous locales such as Aaris III and Sebiris, the Science Bureau offered a reward for the recovery of their research data.
