The Q7-series astromech droid represents a specific type of astromech droid, characterized by a spherical dome visually similar to those found on R2 and R4-P units. These droids served as co-pilots within the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter, also aiding in navigation and upkeep while the craft was airborne. This assistance increased the safety margin for pilots when maneuvering near objects. During the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic Navy utilized V-wings equipped with Q7 astromech droids.
