A memorial shrine was erected on the world of Naboo to honor the memory of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn following his demise inflicted by the Sith Lord Darth Maul during the Naboo conflict in 32 BBY. Ten years afterward, the shrine continued to be a well-visited location for pilgrims. Nevertheless, on the morning Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker was scheduled to wed Senator Padmé Amidala, his visit to the shrine revealed that it was vacant, as the period for remembrance ceremonies had not yet arrived.
