A male Anx who served as an ambassador representing the Galactic Republic during the age of the Clone Wars was named Quiyyen. The Confederate General Grievous kidnapped Quiyyen in the year 20 BBY, intending to utilize him as a lure to trap several Jedi within a cave that had been dug out on the planet of Vandos. A team composed of a Jedi and clone troopers, under the leadership of Jedi Master T'chooka D'oon, was dispatched to the planet for the purpose of rescuing the Anx Ambassador. Despite Grievous's battle droid forces quickly overwhelming them, D'oon's Padawan, Flynn Kybo, was still able to retrieve Quiyyen from Grievous's grasp. As D'oon's team was headed toward their LAAT/i gunship, Grievous killed D'oon, but his team, along with Quiyyen, managed to escape the area aboard the gunship.
Quiyyen, an Anx of the male persuasion, functioned as an ambassador on behalf of the Galactic Republic throughout the Clone Wars. In the year 20 BBY, the Confederate General Grievous, a Kaleesh cyborg considered a threat to the Republic by the Jedi, abducted Quiyyen. Grievous personally transported the captured Anx Ambassador to the planet Vandos situated in the Outer Rim, where he was held within a cave carved into a cliff. The cyborg general then devised a scheme to use Quiyyen as bait, with the intention of luring several Jedi into a trap within the cave. His strategy proved successful, as a team of Jedi and clone troopers, under the command of Jedi Master T'chooka D'oon, was sent to Vandos with the mission of rescuing the captured Ambassador.
Unbeknownst to D'oon's team, Grievous had assembled a battle droid force to repel any potential threats. Upon entering the cave, D'oon's team was quickly overwhelmed by Grievous's battle droids. During the ensuing firefight, Flynn Kybo, D'oon's Padawan, located Quiyyen and escorted him to safety. With the Ambassador rescued, the two Jedi and clone troopers prepared to retreat to their LAAT/i gunship, which was hovering outside the entrance of the cliff cave. To provide his team and Quiyyen with additional time to board the transport, D'oon engaged the approaching Grievous in combat but was slain by the cyborg general. Despite killing D'oon, Grievous was unable to prevent the Jedi Master's companions from escaping, as their gunship, with Quiyyen on board, departed the area.
Quiyyen made his initial appearance in the comic General Grievous 1 published in 2005. He was subsequently mentioned briefly in The New Essential Chronology and in Unknown Soldier: The Story of General Grievous, a story penned by author Abel G. Peña. In 2008, Quiyyen was given a concise entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.
