Rampa 2

Rampa 2, alternatively known as Rampa II, was a planet situated within the Rampa Minor system. This system resided in the Baxel sector, which itself was part of the Outer Rim Territories.

History

During 4 BBY, the Galactic Empire had a base on Rampa 2. This base became the focal point of a well-known uprising. Despite the Empire's brutal suppression of the rebels—and its subsequent claims in propaganda that the rebels had attacked innocent people—their actions sparked a similar insurrection on Rampa 1.

Behind the scenes

The 1997 novel The Hutt Gambit, which is the second book in Star Wars: The Han Solo Trilogy by A. C. Crispin, was where Rampa 2 was first mentioned. It received another mention in Rebel Dawn, the trilogy's third novel from 1998.

To distinguish Rampa 1 and Rampa 2 from Rampa III, a planet that was introduced in Star Wars: The Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley, the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas established the Rampa Minor system. This clarified that they exist in separate system.

The Essential Atlas positions the Rampa Minor system towards the rimward side of Hutt Space. However, comments made by Han Solo during The Hutt Gambit suggest that Rampa 1 and Rampa 2 may be closer to Coruscant and more civilized areas, rather than being located in the Outer Rim Territories.
