The Raquish system existed within the Lambda sector of the Slice region, which itself was located in the Mid Rim. The Battle of Raquish, fought in 39 BBY, shares its designation with this system. This battle saw conflict between the Spiverelda, a collection of worlds colonized by the Aqualish species and controlled by the Aqualish homeworld, Ando, and the fifteen Aqualish-inhabited planets known as the Andoan Free Colonies. Furthermore, the Treaty of Raquish, which governed the Andoan Free Colonies' military force usage following the Battle of Raquish, and the Raquish Thoroughfare in Ando's Quantill City, were both named after the Raquish system.
Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry introduced the Raquish system in their 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, locating it in grid coordinate Q-15.
