Raste was a Human individual of the male gender. He worked as a communications officer on the Esseles. His service took place during the Cold War era, a period of tension between the Galactic Republic and the newly formed resurgent Sith Empire.
During the year 3643 BBY, Raste found himself aboard the Esseles when it came under attack. The assault was carried out by the Emperor's Glory, which was under the command of Moff Kilran. Following the death of Captain Tyrus in the initial strike from the Glory, Raste was the recipient of an incoming transmission from the enemy forces, which demanded the surrender of all personnel on board.
