Rauk Oenish was a male being who existed on the desert planet of Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Following the Battle of Yavin, Rauk Oenish established himself as a man of considerable wealth and influence within Mos Eisley. Furthermore, he maintained relationships with various elements of the criminal element. In the year 1 ABY, some of those he associated with became involved in a scheme orchestrated by Jabba the Hutt. The goal of this scheme was to provoke the Tusken Raiders into launching an assault on Mos Eisley, thereby putting pressure on the local mayor and ultimately seizing control of the city.
During these events, a Twi'lek entertainer named Anetia Kah'ryn grew increasingly worried about the rising criminal activity and Tusken presence around Mos Eisley. As a patron of Rauk Oenish, Kah'ryn possessed valuable knowledge about the criminals and important figures who frequented Oenish's circles. Consequently, she dispatched inexperienced entertainers to infiltrate a party hosted by Rauk Oenish in Mos Eisley, with the objective of gathering intelligence. These entertainers participated in the party, showcasing their talents discreetly without drawing undue attention. As a result, they were able to overhear clandestine conversations and uncover details about Jabba's plot. Ultimately, Anetia Kah'ryn was able to unearth the truth and reveal the entire conspiracy to Mayor Mikdanyell Guh'rantt.
Rauk Oenish existed as a non-player character within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, created by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before its servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. Rauk Oenish was integrated into the game via the "Publish 17," update, which was released on May 26, 2005. He played a role in a quest given by Anetia Kah'ryn to new players who had chosen the "entertainer." career path. Each time the server reset, his appearance and species would be randomly generated, but he was always male.
