The species known as Ravna were a sentient species of vampiric beings possessing the capability to infect other individuals, thereby converting them into creatures akin to themselves.
This species, which bore resemblance to bats, possessed the ability to transform other beings into creatures of their own kind via scratching. Individuals sensitive to the Force, such as Count Dooku, were capable of resisting this transformation for a certain time period. Both the Ravna and the creatures they created were also able to absorb various forms of energy through their mouths, encompassing energy from blaster bolts and lightsabers.
