Lord Ravna, a vampire-like being, possessed the capability to absorb energy and transform others via infection through his claws. On the planet Bray, he collaborated with Count Dooku, a partnership that drew the attention of Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia, prompting their investigation. Upon being confronted, Ravna turned against Dooku and launched an assault on the Jedi. In response, Dooku and the Jedi fought back, ultimately causing the collapse of the walls of the Citadel of Light upon Ravna, effectively imprisoning him.
During the era of the Clone Wars, Lord Ravna established his presence on the shadowy planet of Bray, concealing himself within the ancient Citadel of Light. From this location, he routinely infected numerous Brayans, converting them into creatures akin to himself. While on Bray, he was discovered by Sith Lord Count Dooku, who sought to exploit Ravna's abilities to infect the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic, thereby granting the Confederacy of Independent Systems victory in the conflict. Despite permitting Dooku to work alongside him, Ravna harbored ambitions of independently ruling the galaxy, rather than serving the Confederacy.
Following a plea for assistance from the Brayans to the Jedi Council, Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Adi Gallia were dispatched to Bray, accompanied by a contingent of clones. The Jedi encountered a village of Brayans who were suffering under the oppression of Ravna and his infected "children". During their stay, a transformed mynock commenced sabotaging the village's power supply, leading the clones, under the command of the Jedi and Commander Cody, to engage in combat with the creature. The mynock infected Peel, one of the clones, before retreating to the Citadel. Upon discovering Peel's conversion, the Jedi proceeded to investigate the ancient fortress, where they encountered Dooku.

The Jedi confronted Dooku, accusing him of transforming the Brayan villagers, but Dooku denied the charges, introducing them to Lord Ravna, who immediately attacked. Kenobi attempted to defend himself using his lightsaber, but Ravna absorbed the energy from the weapon, incapacitating Kenobi. Gallia launched an attack on Ravna, but was struck by Dooku's Force lightning. Recognizing Dooku's power, Ravna considered infecting him, but Dooku reminded him of their agreement. Enraged, Ravna lashed out at the Sith Lord's face, declaring that he would not serve him or the Separatists. Ravna, alongside the converted Dooku, stood over the Jedi as his "children" swarmed them. Kenobi taunted Dooku, provoking him to break free of Ravna's influence, striking him with Force lightning. As Dooku restrained Ravna, the Jedi escaped the Citadel and used the Force to collapse the decaying structure upon them.
With Ravna trapped beneath the ruins of the fortress, his converted slaves, including Dooku and Peel, were freed and returned to their original states. Presumed to be dead, the story of Lord Ravna evolved into a myth among the Brayans. However, at a later time, Ravna reawakened, and his arm emerged from the ruins of the Citadel. The tale was later recounted to the crew of Lina Graf by Lieutenant Thom Hudd while they were stranded on Mustafar.
Ravna made his debut in the flashback sequence of the 2018 canon comic Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Vader's Castle 2, authored by Cavan Scott and illustrated by Kelley Jones.
