A re-humidifier is defined as a technological device. In one instance, a group of Humans kidnapped the Duros couple Etro and Droza Edthatt, placing them inside a transport. The Edthatts described this transport as having the appearance of an inverted re-humidifier.
The term re-humidifier appeared within the two-page narrative "Aliens Kidnapped by Humans!". This story, a spoof of supermarket tabloid journalism, was credited to Trebor Uarrac of the Galactic Gossip. The original author was Bob Carrau, who created it for the 1993 book Monsters and Aliens from George Lucas. This book combined creature designs and images from different projects by George Lucas, the originator of the Star Wars saga, with text written by Carrau. Leland Chee, a Lucasfilm worker who curates the Holocron continuity database, has stated that the information within the book is considered non-canonical.
