The Rebel ship of the line represents a class of ship of the line utilized by the Alliance to Restore the Republic throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War.
The Rebel ship of the line was engineered to traverse realspace via a system of eight sublight engines. In contrast to the DP20 frigates of the period, this warship's internal cargo capacity was significantly expanded. These ships were equipped with a variety of rotating, weaponized turrets.
Alongside smaller gunships, several ships of this type participated in the assault on the Imperial force believed to be en route to attack Feriae Junction. They narrowly avoided a trap set by the Tagge family, escaping the Omega Frost weapon within the Feswe Corridor. Subsequently, the fleet turned its attention to the Tagge Mining Explorer and General Ulric Tagge's battlecruiser.
Later, a ship of the line served to transport an Imperial warbot following the Battle of Xeron. After an incident during examination, the warbot was transferred to Luke Skywalker's scout craft and taken to Kligson's Moon for repair work.
The design of the Rebel ship of the line draws inspiration from early conceptual artwork created for the Tantive IV.
