The Empire endeavors to take advantage of a critical weakness in the Rebel fleet's methods of evasion, and as such, they insert a secret operative within the Alliance ranks. This action initiates a chain reaction that will have catastrophic repercussions for Luke Skywalker and those aligned with him. Simultaneously, Darth Vader's personal objectives diverge from the Empire's plans, and he recruits Lt. Janek Sunber to execute a clandestine operation that will lead the naive Imperial officer directly into the core of the Rebellion.
During the Battle of Keskin, Imperial Lieutenant Janek Sunber reflects on his past as a young agricultural worker on Tatooine alongside his companions Biggs and Luke. He struggles with the reality that Luke is now a member of the Rebel Alliance. Despite encountering numerous near-death experiences, Sunber manages to survive when his forces are commanded to withdraw after sustaining significant losses. Subsequently, after violently assaulting a rebel for revealing that Skywalker was responsible for the destruction of the Death Star, Sunber comes to a realization regarding his duty to the Empire: he must relay the information concerning Luke Skywalker to Darth Vader.
